Fans eager to attend the Ryder Cup in 2027, where the United States will strive to reclaim the trophy at Adare Manor in County Limerick, will face significantly increased ticket prices. The cost for a daily ticket has nearly doubled to €499 (£434) compared to the €260 spectators paid in Rome three years ago. This price adjustment will be implemented when tickets are released to Irish residents on Friday. For those interested in attending practice days, tickets will be available at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, with prices rising to €179 and €30 on Thursday, which includes the opening ceremony.
Despite these record highs for a European-hosted Ryder Cup, it’s worth noting that fans paid $750 (£555) to witness Europe’s victory over the U.S. at Bethpage in New York last year. Richard Atkinson, the Chief Ryder Cup Officer, addressed the price increase by stating, “We acknowledge it’s an increase from Rome. That was four years ago and a lot has happened in the world since then. We are lower than Bethpage. We’ve tried to make this as accessible as possible to a wide demographic of people. Our practice day tickets will be from €89 and juniors from €20.”
Atkinson emphasized that the pricing reflects the event’s global stature. “Our prices are proportionate to a global sporting event. This event has grown in stature and profile, it’s one of the biggest sporting events in the world. We’re confident in our pricing but we’ve made it accessible to everyone.”
In an effort to offset the impact of the price hikes, organisers have promised an enhanced experience for fans when the Ryder Cup returns to Ireland for the first time since 2006, a tournament won by Europe at Straffan, County Kildare. Atkinson highlighted plans to significantly upgrade the on-site experience, stating, “We have extensive plans in place to enhance the onsite experience for fans attending the 2027 Ryder Cup, including a record 20,000 grandstand seats and an increased number of giant screens.”
