Belgium secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Türkiye in the UEFA Nations League match held in Liege on Friday. This win marked Belgium’s second victory in the tournament, placing them just a point behind the group leaders, France, in Group A1.
Kevin De Bruyne played a pivotal role in Belgium’s triumph, scoring twice during the match. He opened the scoring with a precise shot from the edge of the penalty area after a quick exchange with teammate Dodi Lukebakio. De Bruyne continued to dominate, doubling Belgium’s lead with a stunning curling effort that found the top corner of the net.
Despite Türkiye’s efforts to equalize, they struggled to capitalize on their chances, leaving them without a point after three games in the group stage. The defeat was compounded by Romelu Lukaku’s goal, who came in as a substitute in the 61st minute and scored 15 minutes later. Lukaku converted a low cross from Charles De Ketelaere to seal the victory for Belgium.
This loss further deepens Türkiye’s challenges in the Nations League, as they remain at the bottom of their group with no points. Their next match against Italy on October 5 will be even more challenging with key players Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz suspended due to accumulated yellow cards.
